SUPER TERRORIST BORN AND BRED IN MALAYSIA

Most politicians make promises to end corruption or to impose a lower tax. But PAS goes further; they promise heaven to anyone who supports them. The words trip off their tongues so easily; vote for PAS, and we will reach the gates of paradise. This kind of con artistry is all pretty harmless, if people vote PAS because they really believe that mere men can grant them paradise then that’s their prerogative. However, it becomes dangerous when PAS uses it’s access card to heaven as a way to recruit members who in turn becomes a terrorist.

PAS makes lavish promises not because they believe their own promises, but because they crave a loyal and hardcore group of followers. PAS irresponsibly deceives their supporters by promising Heaven to those that unfailingly support them. They create a new class of citizens, a class of citizens, that does not play well with other citizens of Malaysia, they create animosity and dissention between people who normally get along. PAS makes its edicts on a lofty perch where they are the only ones who are correct, they are the perfect Muslims, they are only second to God. So that even if PAS commits a wrong, there is always a valid justification. After all God is never wrong and apparently Nik Aziz is only second to Him. This encouragement of blind hero worship created a group of political supporters that are in a class of their own. The Unit Amal PAS is an example of PAS’ strong following, members of this unit act as police to the PAS members. They are so sure that they are correct that they see themselves tas the law. The laws that apply to you or me are beneath them. They will do anything and everything to protect the party and the leadership in the name of Islam and Jihad.

Being Islamic experts the leaders of PAS must know that what they are doing is wrong, but political greed soothes their conscience. Unfortunately, their followers blindly follow without a second thought that the men that they follow may be leading them to a gruesome end.

These young men come to a stage where they realize that the fighting at home is too bland for their tastes. Street demonstrations and political rallies are not enough to get them into paradise, surely they must have a more dramatic entrance when they reach paradise. That’s when they turn to the more dangerous battlefields of Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, where war is rife and proving their self worth is easier to attain.  This is where trouble begins

Whilst in Malaysia, these men are brainwashed into thinking that it is their Muslim responsibility to make Malaysia an Islamic state, failure to do so means failure as a Muslim. As long as they stay in Malaysia their efforts are largely political, getting enough people to support PAS so that it legally becomes government one day. However, the restless youth, with the encouragement from PAS leaders, decide to take their Islamic duties a step further and venture off to foreign lands where military life is the norm. In places like Syria and Iraq our once harmless youth are taught militancy strategy and terrorist tactics using military grade weapons. So the combination of PAS brainwashing and foreign military strategy has created a new breed of super terrorists. These super terrorists are born and bred in Malaysia by people who are supposed to be responsible leaders of our nation.

They encourage the Malaysian youth to leave the safety of their country and family and take up arms in the Middle East. Failure to survive, equals to an abundance of wealth in the after life. Those same people who harmlessly believed that they can enter Paradise with the stroke of a pen come voting time or who believed that they could attain paradise by encouraging other Malaysians to support PAS have become dangerous militants who are out for blood instead of votes.

And what does PAS do when they see what their words have wrought? They turn their backs and pretend ignorance of the existence of these people. Ustaz Mohd Lotfi Ariffin, a member of PAS, is an example of a PAS promise gone wrong. A member of PAS until recently, Lotfi was promised paradise by PAS if he became a militant. When he inadvertently followed the teachings of PAS, he ended up in Syria, leaving behind his six children to fight for a cause that even he himself is not sure of. Reaching Syria, Lotfi like many people today decided to post his little adventure on Facebook, and it blew up in PAS’ face.

Malaysians were horrified to find out that one of their own was fighting in Syria. It’s a well-known fact that those who commit violence against a mass of people are called terrorists, not jihadists. We were appalled and humiliated that a terrorist was calling himself a Malaysian. While most Malaysians were worrying over the existence of terrorists and the possibility that they will come back to Malaysia and continue terrorism at home, PAS was frantically trying to come up with a plan of action. And the best that they could come up with? Deny, Deny, Deny.

They encouraged a man to put his life at risk, took a chance that his six children will grow up without a father and without a stable source of income, emboldened normally peaceful folks to become terrorists, but worst of all they have put all our lives in Malaysia at risk. When these PAS terrorists finish with whatever they’re doing in Syria, they will inevitably come home. And do you think they are going to go back and play happy family? Do you think they will be satisfied attending the annual party AGM? No. Their bloodlust will not be satisfied by playing politics. They will pick up where they left off in Syria. They will continue “God’s Work” here in Malaysia and suddenly we are the enemies. Those of us who do not fit their bill of the good Muslim becomes the enemy. Our death is their key to paradise, this is what was promised them by PAS. Where is PAS in all this? Frantically terminating memberships, distancing themselves from the  havoc that they have created.

Insisting that they are a peaceful party, that they have nothing to do with the actions of their members. Pretending offence when people accuse them of creating these terrorists.  Is revoking a membership enough? How can you call yourselves responsible leaders when you cannot take responsibility for the actions of your followers? How can you stand there playing the innocent while your country faces a daunting future that resembles the fate of those in Syria and Iraq?

THERESA COCK’C SATIRE

For Chinese, Chinese New Year celebration symbolises the beginning, in fate and life. When I watched Teresa Cock’s Chinese New Year video, I thought she was only joking that Horse Year 2014 is not a good year due to price hike, insulting Malaysia’s security, calling the shooting incident in Sabah as a competition, the people in Johor are allegedly in fear due to rising crime rates and that Malaysians are stupid due to lack of quality education. I thought it is all joke, but it becomes like a “Drunken Monkey” movie.

The joke became worse when it garnered public’s response and NGO’s ire, leading to police reports. Theresa Cock became anxious thus she too, lodged a police report. Why do we need to lodge a report over a joke? Theresa need to watch P.Ramlee’s “Labu dan Labi.”

I saw them demonstrating and stamping on Teresa Cock’s photo as well as smearing cock’s blood on the image of her—it is akin to “Labu dan Labi.” I became speechless, why should Theresa Cock get angry, it is merely a joke.

Theresa Cock explained that her provocation was merely a joke. It’s the same with “Labu dan Labi.” I thought again, if it is funny, it is funny. Why  is there a need to be serious?

So, when the public and NGOs made a joke by putting men’s genital (Big Cock) on her head, smearing the cock’s blood and stamped their foot on her image, offered thousands of Ringgit for reward to those who slap her, I think it is a joke too. It is funny.

If Theresa Cock said that her CNY video is a joke, the public and NGOS’ actions are jokes too. We did not see any “Cock” on head while lodging a police report? If there was, the female police would have run!

You just like to make racist jokes. When people retaliate with their jokes, you got angry. You are really good at pretending!

Ooops, I forgot, even Terersa Cock’s name is a joke…

Maybe Teresa Cock fails to understand, even the Chinese adage said, ‘Kill a cock to scare thousand monkeys’! So, sacrificing a cock and smearing cock’s blood on her head is a joke too, why should she be scared and lodged a police report.

When Teresa Cock lodged a police report, I rationally though, is lodging a police report a world-class joke? The question is, Teresa Cock does not trust the police? Another joke! You do not trust a police but you lodged a report to them…Isn’t that a joke?

Now only Teresa Cock understands the limitations of a joke. Just like a Malay adage, you only realised after you got hit. You cannot undo your action. To say Theresa Cock is stupid, she’s smart. A Member of Parliament. Maybe she is an MP for the Chinese only. Hence why she does not understand the nationalism spirit in Malaysia.

Do not be like Salman Rushdie who insulted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and wife. The clerics and Imam Khomeini issued a fatwa saying Salman Rushdie must be killed for insulting Islam and Muslims. Does Theresa Cock view this as a joke as well? Salman went in hiding for years due to fear of getting killed, does hiding for years is a joke too!

What is happening in our country? Everything is a joke. Religion, national security are being made fun of, should we continue with this joke? What kind of an MP who put her self interest above the national interest?

Anyway, sorry to say, I forgot, does a Chinese woman who is approaching her 50s is considered a joke? How does she satiate her desires? No wonder her name’s Cock, and no wonder people put a Big Cock on her head! Opps don’t be mad, it is only a joke.

Do not build the house at the beachside if one fears the waves. If you are afraid of resistance, do not simply make fun of everything.

Sg Limau by-election: Voters cast their votes early to avoid rain

Sungai Limau voters began casting their votes early to avoid possible rain later on.

Barisan Nasional candidate Dr Ahmad Sohaimi Lazim casted his votes at SK Dulang here at 8.48am on Monday.

Also casting her vote at the same school was his wife Siti Bunga Ismail.

A total of 3,927 voters(14.43%) cast their votes within the first hour.

Ex-lecturer is #BN man for #PRKSgLimau by-election

Former Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) lecturer Dr Ahmad Sohaimi Lazim will be the Barisan Nasional candidate in the Sungai Limau by-election.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced this at the Barisan election centre in Kampung Sungai Lintang here yesterday.

Muhyiddin said Dr Ahmad Sohaimi, 52, from Titi Batu in Guar Chempedak, near here, fulfilled the party’s criteria based on his educational background and personality.

The by-election follows the death of Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak on Sept 26.

“Our candidate can ensure changes in the area by voicing the needs of Sungai Limau folk,” said Muhyiddin, when announcing the candidacy of Dr Ahmad Sohaimi, who is also a Jerai Umno division committee member.

Muhyiddin said the Sungai Limau by-election is a test for Umno and Barisan after the 13th general election.

“Barisan won back Kedah from PAS and the Federal Government is giving full support for it to become one of the developed states in the country.

“It will be unfair for Sungai Limau folk if they are left behind in the development,” he added.

Muhyiddin said he was happy with the Umno machinery in the Jerai division, which stood united despite the change in the division leadership at the just-concluded party polls.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Jerai MP Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom became the new division chief after defeating incumbent Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah.

Muhyiddin said both men had shown good cooperation to strengthen the party machinery.

In his speech, Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir took to task groups that twisted the Barisan’s pledges as “threats”.

“We never make threats. When Barisan make a promise, we deliver,” he said.

Dr Ahmad Sohaimi said he was confident of facing the electorate despite Sungai Limau being a PAS stronghold.

He said he would focus on human capital development and education in his campaign, with the help of Jamil Khir.

Death threats to politicians

PETALING JAYA: At around 3am on September 2008, a motorcyclist rode by the house of Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.

He flung a Molotov cocktail and a bottle containing a letter filled with vulgarities into the compound of the DAP politician’s home.

Fortunately, the bottles didn’t ignite. No one was hurt during the attacks.

But Kok felt fearful and worried. She believed the attack was to instil fear in her and to frighten her from performing her duties as an MP.

In 2009, Kok received another threat on her blog telling her that she, ‘should be taught with blood.’

“Will they come to kill me? It is probable. This is something that nobody can guarantee,” said Kok.

When asked if the threats have ever deterred her from carrying out her duties, she replied with a firm, ‘No.”

A question that pops up during these instances is: How many of the threats actually materialise?

Just two weeks ago, both Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and PKR Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim became the focus of twitter attacks telling them to be careful for their lives.

“To evaluate the seriousness of a death threat, we must assess the context and nature of the case. Politicians should always be alert when it comes to safety, especially high profile figures,” said Dr. Tunku Mohar Tunku Mohd. Mokhtar, lecturer of political science at IIUM.

“It has occurred before (deaths) although they are not common. Assassination isn’t part of our culture. Nevertheless, threats should not be taken lightly,” agreed political analyst Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin.

Malaysian history tells of numerous high-profile deaths, murder and assault cases involving politicians.

In 1976, a plane crashed in Sabah killing then Chief Minister of Sabah, Tun Fuad Stephens. Conclusive reasons for crash are unknown and investigation reports remain classified, prompting speculation of foul play.

Conspiracy buffs have tried to link the timely death of Tun Fuad with the signing of Sabah’s oil rights to the Malaysian Federal Government, but without any hard evidence to prove this claim, all allegations remain nothing more than conjecture.

In 1982, Datuk Mokhtar Hashim, then Culture, Youth and Sports Minister was convicted for killing Datuk Taha Talib, State Assemblyman for Tampin, days before the 1982 general elections.

The court found that the bullet which killed Taha came from Mokhtar’s gun and the motivation for murder was thought to be political rivalry.

Notable unsolved cases involving politicians also include the murders of Lunas assemblyman Dr Joe Fernandez and Tenggaroh assemblyman Datuk S. Krishnasamy.

In 2000, Fernandez was driving home when he was shot dead by a pillion motorcycle rider. The motive for murder is uncertain, although religious reasons have been suggested. The Islamic militant group KMM (Kumpulan Mujahidin Malaysia) was suspected to have a hand in the crime but no clear evidence was found and the culprits are still at large.

In 2008 Krishnasamy was on his way to a meeting when he was shot in a lift in Johor’s MIC headquarters at point blank range. The case remains unsolved.

Despite these incidents, the number of deaths and murders involving politicians is relatively low, said Shaharuddin.

“In Malaysia, unlike other third world nations, we rarely see death threats becoming a reality. However, caution should be exercised at all times,” explained Shaharuddin who also pointed out that actions of such perpetrators are often unpredictable.

“Assassinations happen even in first world nations and we should do our best to avoid this path,” he added.

#PAS snubs DAP’s call to boycott polls

PAS has snubbed a call by its Pakatan Rakyat partner DAP to boycott the Kuala Besut by-election.

Its state commissioner Abdul Wahid Endut said it would not allow Barisan Nasional to retain the seat uncontested.

“There were calls to boycott the swearing-in of MPs before, yet everyone was sworn in.

“The issue of boycotting the by-election does not arise,” he said here yesterday.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng on Sunday suggested that PAS should boycott the by-election to protest alleged dirty tactics by the Election Commission (EC) during the May 5 general election.

Abdul Wahid, the Wakaf Mempelam assemblyman, said the by-election was crucial for Pakatan Rakyat, as a win for the Opposition coalition would bring the seat assembly to an equal tally of 16 representatives from both sides.

“This situation has never occurred before. We are going to approach this by-election with an aim to form a new state government should we win,” he said.

Abdul Wahid added that the party already shortlisted three to four candidates and would make an announcement at the appropriate time.

On reports that PKR is interested in fielding its own candidate in Kuala Besut, Abdul Wahid said the seat must be contested by PAS as it did so in the last general election.

He added that state deputy PAS commissioner Satiful Bahri Mamat, who is also Paka assemblyman, will be the party’s by-election director.

In Kuala Lumpur, PAS information chief Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party had no intention of boycotting the by-election.

“Although there are things which we disagree on pertaining to the electoral process by the EC, we have no intention not to contest as this seat is very crucial for PAS in Terengganu,” he told online news portal The Mole yesterday.

Tuan Ibrahim said PAS had three important requests for the EC regarding this upcoming by-election.

“Firstly, we want the EC to ensure no interference from the government’s machinery.

“Secondly, we want fair and balanced media coverage.

“Thirdly, we hope for improvement in terms of observers as well as the conduct of the EC officers during the polling day itself,” he said.

Separately, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that he would lead Barisan’s charge in the by-election.

Muhyiddin, who is Umno deputy president, said the Prime Minister had tasked him to lead the election machinery in Kuala Besut with Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh as his deputy.

“We are fully prepared for the by-election. We are working with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said to determine our strategies to face the by-election.”

#Kedah duo to meet Penang reps on raw water bill issue

Kedah will hold a discussion with Penang soon on the state’s intention to seek raw water payment.

State secretary Datuk Mohd Puat Mohd Ali and Kedah legal adviser Datuk Anas Ahmad Zakie have been instructed to meet their Penang counterparts to discuss the matter.

“This is a process before the actual negotiations,” Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir told newsmen after meeting with the Kedah local government council members here yesterday.

It was reported that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had said that Penang would not pay Kedah for drawing water from Sungai Muda, as it was taken from the Penang side.

Despite the spat with Kedah on the water supply issue, Lim still announced that PBA Holdings Bhd had recorded an increase in revenue by about 3.5% year-on-year in 2012.

Mukhriz had said that the state would not ask for more than they deserved.

“We have a valid argument.

“Although several representatives from Penang have already had their say regarding this issue, we also have our own views,” he said.

Deputy Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid urged both Kedah and Penang to sit down amicably and discuss the matter thoroughly.

“From the legal point of view, there are a lot of things that they still need to check.

“We need to look at it from all angles.”

Earlier, the deputy minister had attended a farewell luncheon which was held by the Muda Agriculture Development Authority (Mada) for him on his last day as chairman yesterday.

Mahdzir said that so far, none of the states had submitted a letter to his ministry seeking an intervention on the issue.

Daylight robbery in @Khairykj home.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has become the latest victim of robbers when his home was hit on Saturday afternoon.

Three men scaled the wall of the bungalow in Jalan Setiabistari, Bukit Damansara, at about 5.30pm before breaking in through the front door.

Khairy and his wife, who live in the house which belongs to his mother, were not in when the robbers struck.

The only person in the house was a maid, who said the three men ransacked the place, including the master bedroom where most of the valuables were kept.

The robbers took off with several laptop computers, watches and other expensive items.

City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah said police were trying to find out the total number of items taken away.

“There have been no arrests yet. We are probing all angles for the robbery,” he said.

Khairy, who also confirmed the robbery on his Facebook page yesterday, thanked family members and friends who offered words of kindness.

“Thankfully no one was hurt and I leave the matter in the hands of the police.

“This incident is a reminder to us all that crime is a serious problem in our country.

“It is a real issue and not just merely a perception,” he said, urging other victims of crimes to stay strong.

He also urged everyone to keep their families and themselves safe.

Don’t fall for Opposition’s lies, students abroad urged

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has reminded Malaysian students overseas not to fall for the Opposition’s lies to the extent of not supporting the Government.

The Prime Minister said the slander spread by the Opposition during the recent 13th general election (GE13), for instance, had resulted in the students getting the wrong perception of the Government.

“Until today, there is no proof of the Opposition’s claim that we had brought in 40,000 Bangladeshis (to vote for the Barisan Nasional). This is slander and a very big lie,” he said.

“That’s why I ask: Are people not able to think? It has turned out that some people cannot think wisely,” said Najib, questioning the people’s level of intelligence and rationality over such issues.

Najib was speaking at a luncheon with Malaysian students in Indonesia at the multipurpose hall in the Malaysian embassy at Kuningan, here, yesterday.

Also present were his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Malaysian ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Syed Munshe Afdzaruddin Syed Hassan.

Najib is here on a personal visit to meet up with a number of Indonesian leaders close to him, and for a rest after GE13.

He urged the Malaysian students to think rationally – whether it was possible for Barisan to bring in 40,000 Bangladeshis to vote for the ruling coalition because it would require 100 jumbo planes to fly them to Malaysia and 1,000 buses to take them to polling stations.

He said the Opposition’s claim was absurd. “I, as the Barisan chairman, strongly refute that there was cheating by Barisan (in the GE13), as alleged. The general election was conducted in a fair manner and in accordance with the law and regulations.”

Najib said Barisan had carried out many transformations in terms of delivery over the last four years and had validly won the GE13, but it lost in the war of perception because of the slander and lies churned out by the Opposition through the alternative media, which many people believed in more than the truth provided by the mainstream media.

“For the next general election, Barisan must equip itself well to fight in the war of perception,” he said.

“In reality, we have delivered, as Malaysia is increasingly prosperous and a good example for many countries, but perceived otherwise by some quarters,” he lamented. “The war of perception is thus the biggest challenge for Barisan.”

Sabotage attempts must be detected early, says Ahmad Zahid

THE issue of party turncoats and sabotage will take centre stage at the coming Umno general assembly along with preparations for the general election.

A strong signal will be sent out to the delegates that traitors and saboteurs have no place within the party.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the party learnt a harsh lesson in 2008 and will not compromise on the issue.

“We have to start early in detecting attempts to sabotage especially since the elections is coming. We need to act against them now and not wait until the elections is over.

“Even if we have to cut fingers, legs or hands (sack members), at least the body (Umno) will remain intact,” he said in an interview recently.

It is an open secret that in 2008, many Umno members turned against Barisan Nasional over dissatisfaction on the choice of candidates.

“Barisan clearly lost Perak and Kedah in the last elections because of sabotage and we nearly lost Negri Sembilan. We need to make sure this does not happen again,” said Ahmad Zahid.

‘WAR’ BETWEEN OPPOSITION PARTIES ON WHO IS TO BE PM AFFECT VOTERS CONFIDENCE

The ‘war’ is on now between PAS and DAP in the opposition alliance that was formed with the sole purpose of unseating Barisan Nasional (BN) and take over as the federal government.

Nice beautiful ambition that started as a dream and it now seems to have developed into near reality as the opposition alliance of three parties – PAS, DAP and PKR – keep pounding and hammering BN with allegations and accusations which somewhat or rather succeeded in molding the minds of Malaysians into believing them to be true.

A hard climb through lies and cheats, the three parties managed to take over four states in 2008 and this time around, they plan to take over the federal government.

They feel the people, Malaysians who are voters at large will continue to support them and their lies, forgetting that the states that they controlled now are in chaos with voters’ uprising following their unfulfilled promises and unprofessional administration.

And despite all these, as they continue exposing allegations of scandals and so on, they want Malaysians and voters to believe that they are capable of running the country, managing the nation’s economy as well as making policies beneficial to all the races and religions.

If they are truly capable, the three parties would not argue and debate whether the country would implement Islamic laws and enforces Hudud.
PAS, the most senior partner in PR has stated and reiterated its stand that it will implement Islamic laws and enforces Hudud if the opposition wins the federal government.

Worse still is that the party wanted its president Abdul Hadi Awang to be the Prime Minister, not PKR de facto chief Anwar Ibrahim.

So now the ‘war’ between them begins with DAP and PKR wanting Anwar as Prime Minister while PAS insisted on Hadi Awang.

Logically, if they cannot come together and have one mind on such matter, do they think voters would trust them to run the country?

The ‘war’ is an open secret as voters watch what will be outcome before the present government calls for election.

Voters are now smarter…like the saying goes once bitten twice shy…they already know what and who the oppositions are and with this new issue on who is going to be the Prime Minister, they are more wary and worry.

How hard the oppositions try to hide the issue, Malaysians at large know they cannot be voted into the government because they do not stand united in philosophies and principles.

They are poles apart and voters know there is no rallying point among them…not even on a simple matter like who is the Prime Minister.

Thus, no matter what kind of show they put up, voters already know the oppositions have no contents what more other criteria to rule.

Pahang Sultan expresses disappointment over freedom of religion statement

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, has expressed his disappointment and sadness over a statement by an Opposition party leader relating to the freedom of religion of Malaysians, including the Malays.

Describing the statement as nonsense and illogical, he said the party concerned was too vocal in its discussion on religious matters without considering its effect on society, especially the Muslims.

“As the leader of the Islamic religion and Ruler in Pahang, I'm saddened and disappointed with the statement. I advise people not to listen to such talk,” he told reporters after the state-level Maal Hijrah celebrations here yesterday.

Such matters should be left to the Islamic religious councils, who were better informed, he said.

On Nov 3, a pro-Opposition news portal had reported PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar as allegedly saying that freedom of religion should be for Muslims as well.

She had allegedly made the remarks while replying to a question at a forum on the Islamic state in Selangor early this month.

Pahang mufti Datuk Abdul Rah-man Osman advised Muslims to be careful with such parties and statements, adding that these could lead to the eventual deviation and destruction of the Islamic faith.

Sultan: Abide by guidelines for Islamic talks

The Sultan of Terengganu, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, has reminded the people that Islamic talks or ceramah in the state without the proper guidelines are strictly prohibited.

He said such prohibition was needed in order to maintain the country's stability and prevent any confusion among the peole, especially Muslims.

“Every party must abide by the guidelines stated by the respective religious authorities in the state.

“This has been clearly stated under Section 102 of the Islamic Administrative Issues Enactment,” he said after launching the Ma'al Hijrah celebrations at Wisma Darul Iman here yesterday.

He added that only talks that have been approved by religious authorities could be held.

Tuanku Mizan also reminded the rakyat to always be united to ensure the country's continuous development and tranquillity.

“The rakyat should also be thankful that they are living in a peaceful country despite its share of problems.

“I also want to see more religious programmes held at surau or masjid as it could curb social ills,” he said.

At the same event, Tuanku Mizan presented various awards, including the Tokoh Ma'al Hijrah to former Terengganu Islamic Affairs commissioner Datuk Ismail Ali.

Don't use AES issue as political play

Pakatan is using the Automatic Enforcement System (AES) issue as part of their political play, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha.

He said the opposition should not put people's lives at risk for their own political end.

"When accidents happen, they question why we do not do enough.

"But when we do something and take action, they use it as a political manouvre. I think it's very unfair," he said.

When asked about objections and plea to delay the system, Kong said he had briefed the parties including the Penang and Selangor state government.

"I don't think they are objecting but are merely asking us to clarify some things.

"I don't think anyone objected outrightly, even the Pakatan (leaders), they want us to brief them," he said.

Almost 40 per cent or 331 out of the 831 cameras to be installed under the AES are in Pakatan-led states.

Penang was the first state to announce its decision to defer the implementation, followed by Kelantan, Kedah and Selangor.

Kong questioned why anyone would want to object to something that will improve road safety and reduce death rate.

He said every year over 400,000 accidents occured and more than 6,800 people died on the road in the country.

"Something must be done. We have heard from many who have come forward to tell us that people are now beginning to drive according to speed limit due to the system.
"I hope this issue will not be politicised further,"he said.

The minister denied the implementation of the system was rushed.

"We have been engaging stakeholders for several years now, even in Parliament it's been debated and answered for a few years.

"We can’t say this is something we rushed into,"he said.

BN man’s car splattered with red paint

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Barisan Nasional Youth chief Oh Tong Keong's car has been splashed with red paint and both its windscreen and rear screen smashed.

Oh had earlier parked his car at the Old Frees' Association building in Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah to meet friends for lunch and a discussion of party matters yesterday.

He said it started to rain heavily about 10 minutes after he arrived at the association at about 2.50pm.

“I just started eating when a waiter told me at 3.30pm that my car was splashed with red paint. I rushed out and saw the car splattered with paint.

“The windscreen and rear screen were smashed,” he said.

Oh said two men wearing raincoats were seen leaving the building compound on a motorcycle but no one had witnessed the incident.

Repairs to the car were expected to cost about RM10,000, he added.

Oh later lodged a report at the Patani Road police station.

Street demos and mooning not our culture, says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: Street demonstrations and ‘mooning’ are not values young Malaysians should be proud of, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“Street demonstration is not a Malaysian value that we would want to encourage; neither is the act of dropping one’s pants in public,” he said when launching the Preliminary Report of the Malaysian Education Development Plan 2013-2025 here yesterday.

Najib made the remarks in reference to the Merdeka Day eve gathering here where a college student bared his buttocks over a photograph of the prime minister.

Clip shows gun incident

PETALING JAYA: Police investigations into an incident in which a bodyguard of Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was said to have pointed a gun at a group of men in Malacca last Saturday took a dramatic turn after the emergence of a video clip on the Internet.

The clip contradicted the denials by PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and Wanita executive secretary Maisuri Zainal that the bodyguard had pointed his gun at the group.

Several pro-Pakatan Rakyat bloggers such as Addin had come to the bodyguard's defence, posting a photograph of the bodyguard being apprehended with his gun pointed downwards.

Anwar's bodyguard held gun to my face

MALACCA: A blogger who had an automatic pistol pointed at his face by Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's bodyguard is still in trauma over the incident.

Shahridhan Shaharan said the bodyguard was so brazen and came up to him, although he was with a group of people in Kampung Baru Rim on Saturday.

He said he still shuddered whenever he thought about the incident as the bodyguard “looked very menacing, as if he really meant to pull the trigger”.

Shahridhan said he was among some people who were putting up banners along a road when a bus carrying Anwar and his party members on PKR's “Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat” roadshow passed by.
