#GE13: EC advises postal voters to mark and submit ballots quickly

Overseas postal voters are encouraged to mark their ballots and submit them to their respective missions the moment they collect their ballot papers to avoid any complications.

Election Commission deputy chairman Datuk Wira Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said Tuesday that this was the most secure method of submitting their postal votes and would also guarantee that their ballots arrived at their constituencies on time.

"That is the best for Malaysians overseas to do. They have every right (to submit their postal votes on their own), but our advice is to vote at the Malaysian mission itself.

"The mission is secure, you have witnesses and the voters themselves will put their ballot papers in the envelope and later in the ballot sack," he said at a press conference after inspecting preparations to send out the postal votes at Wisma Putra here.
