Woman escapes after thugs smash car windscreen

SHAH ALAM: Quick thinking by a woman saved her life after four men smashed the windscreen of her car - she sped off before they could harm her.

The 12.30pm incident occurred when the 45-year-old woman was about to leave her restaurant in Taman Paling Jaya, Semenyih, Sunday.

Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the men, who came in a Perodua Myvi, cornered the woman and smashed her car's windscreen, but did not take anything.

"Luckily, the woman managed to speed off in time. The suspects did not follow and left the scene," he said, adding that the suspects' motive were unknown.

SAC Mohd Adnan added the police managed to nab all four suspects nearby a toll booth in Kajang at about 2am Monday.

He said police recovered two machetes, a knife and a knucklebuster from the suspects, aged between 19 and 26, and that they were remanded until Tuesday.

"Police are investigating if the group was also involved in other robbery cases in the Klang Valley," he said, adding that a number of police reports lodged cited a Perodua Myvi as the getaway car.
