Malaysia sends RM350,000 worth of relief aid to typhoon-hit Philippines

The Malaysian government is sending RM350,000 worth of emergency aid to victims of Typhoon Bopha in southern Philippines.

Deputy Foreign Minister A. Kohilan Pillay said a total of 13 tonnes of aid would be sent Friday, accompanied by a team of officials from the National Security Council and the Armed Forces.

"We hope that the humanitarian assistance will ease the suffering faced by the victims affected by the Typhoon Bopha," he said after launching the project for the establishment of a disaster emergency stockpile in TUDM Subang.

Typhoon Bopha slammed the southern part of Philippines on Tuesday, destroying thousands of homes and killing nearly 500 people, with about 400 still missing.
